Located in Ventnor, on the south coast of the Isle of Wight, we serve the whole of the South Wight community. Discerning film-goers have been known to travel from all parts of the Island to see Ventnor Film Society presentations.

A relatively young film society, VFS was established in 2005, offering its first full season in 2005-6. Its programming policy is to balance intelligent popular films with more interesting works, and to ensure that films neglected by commercial exhibitors are brought to a local audience.

Our current venue is the Ventnor Winter Gardens (photo below), which can seat up to 450. As well as a large auditorium, the venue offers bar facilities and straightforward wheelchair access from the car park.

Ventnor Film Society is a non-profit making, non-political organisation affiliated to the British Federation of Film Societies. It has received financial support from the Southern Co-operatives Foundation, the Isle of Wight Charitable Trust, Ventnor Partnership and Ventnor Town Council.

All VFS presentations (apart from special events) take place on Tuesday evenings and start at 7.30pm. There is a bar in the building and guests may take drinks into film presentations. All are welcome; you do not have to belong to the Society in order to attend.
